NHS Roseland Ridge
Client/Owner: Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago
Architect: Landon, Bone, Baker Architects
General Contractor: Thrush Construction

Roseland Ridge is a 40-unit affordable rental housing and garden development, designed for Neighborhood Housing Services in Roseland, Chicago.  The long and narrow 2.1 acre site necessitated a thoughtful arrangement of the mostly family-inhabited housing units, resulting in a dynamic and successful melding of the architectural and landscape designs.

Units are centered around the shared community green space; a place for children, families, and neighbors to relax and interact.  Open views from the units into the common area provide parents the opportunity to supervise from afar while young people play, run and ride bikes on the winding path that encircles the central greenery.  Perennial grasses, flowering trees, shrubs and other hardy and low-maintenance plants reiterate the user-friendliness of this safe, well-lit, and secure family space.
