We are working with Kaufman O’Neil Architecture on the renovation of Lincoln Park’s Theater on the Lake, a Craftsman-era public venue on Chicago’s lakefront. The renovation will include modern theater seating, lighting and sound and a new restaurant with outdoor patio.

McKay Landscape Architects is working with Stantec on the Pullman Artspace Lofts, a mixed-use affordable live/work space for artists and their families in the historic Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. We are working with Canopy A + D to develop plans that satisfy Enterprise Green Commmunities requirements for green, affordable housing. The project scope includes landscaped parkways and a rooftop amenity deck.
McKay Landscape Architects is working with Sumac Inc to develop a master plan for a 17 acre mixed use destination including retail, apartment buildings, parks, and “main street” shops. The plan focuses on green infrastructure and playful, active, public spaces.
An underused tennis court is being re-purposed as a playground surrounded by drifts of native and adapted perennials and ornamental grasses. McKay Landscape Architects is working with Piekarz Associates to design the garden and playground so it can be installed directly over the existing tennis court to minimize the need for grading and removals.
McKay Landscape Architects is working with Wheeler Kearns Architects on a beach front residence in St. Joseph, Michigan. The garden and architecture highlight the native dune habitat and expansive views of Lake Michigan.
McKay Landscape Architects is working with Landon Bone Baker on a renovation of the Carling Hotel. The Carling Hotel is an existing 155 unit SRO Hotel. The renovation will be a complete historic renovation of the interior and a re-imagining of two courtyard spaces. The courtyards have been designed to provide dynamic visual interest for the residents to enjoy.
McKay Landscape Architects is working with Landon Bone Baker and Brinshore Development on Park Place – a Planned Development on the southwest side of Chicago that will feature 78 new units of multifamily affordable rental apartments. The project consists of 14 new construction 3-flats, 6-flats, and 9-flats. The development will provide ample open space for the residents with lush landscaped areas, a rain garden, and terraces. The geometry of the landscape was inspired by the works of Burle Marx.
